Finally moving out of our rented flat in Kolkata! We decided on LICs Jeevan Niketan in New Alipore. We chose a 1548 Sq.ft 3 BHK, which gives us much more room than our old place. It was completed in April 2021, so it felt more established than a brand new construction. The location is decent, close to B. L. Saha road, and Taratala Metro Station is just nearby, which is convenient. The cost was about 1.25 Cr. One thing we noticed is that the OC received status is not available, which is a bit concerning. We are hoping this will be sorted out soon as we are very eager to move in.

It's a good location for us, close to Diamond Harbour Road which helps with commutes. We like the proximity to St. Joseph & Mary's School, even though we don't have kids yet, it's good for future planning. The price was within our budget, around 1.15 Cr. The only downside is the traffic can get heavy during peak houon Diamond Harbour Road. But overall, it feels like a solid purchase for our fit home.
