After retiring, I wanted a peaceful place to settle down. I found Himayam Annapoorna Apartments in Chennai North, Kolathur. It's a ready-to-move-in project, completed back in 2014 by Himayam Enginee& BuildeI purchased a 2 BHK apartment of 550 square feet. The price was quite attractive, about 30.25 Lakh. The amenities like 24x7 security, water storage, and a landscape garden are very important for someone my age. It is also conveniently located near Red Hills Road and Grand Northern Trunk Road. However, the built-up area for the 2 BHK seems a bit small, and the listing mentioned 5225000 sq.ft for the 2.5 BHK which is definitely an error. The overall design is innovative, and the property has 3 open sides which is nice.

The location in Kolathur is familiar to them and close to Villivakkam Railway Station, making it easy for them to travel. They also appreciate the 24x7 security and the landscape garden. A small concern is the parking, as it might be a bit tight during family visits. The price of 65.45 Lakh for the larger units is acceptable for the comfort and amenities provided. The terrace garden is a unique feature my mother is looking forward to.
