Andhra Pradesh is set to transform Visakhapatnam into a future-ready metropolis by adopting Mumbai's CIDCO-MMRDA urban development model for its ambitious Vizag 2.0 and Bay City masterplans.

MMRDA and SRA have launched the ₹8,498 crore redevelopment of Ramabai Ambedkar Nagar and Kamraj Nagar in Ghatkopar—Mumbai's largest slum rehabilitation project spanning 31.8 hectares with over 17,000 homes, marking a transformative milestone in inclusive urban development.

MMRDA has invited construction bids for 5,623 homes under Phase 1 of its first-ever independent slum redevelopment project at Ramabai Nagar, Ghatkopar. Project includes towers, civic amenities & a freeway link.

The government wants to develop 2 lakh homes in Mumbai and Pune within three years, transforming the housing markets. This ambitious plan seeks to eliminate Mumbai slums, increase MHADA lottery possibilities, and revive SRA projects.

Thousands of families from Ramabai Ambedkar Nagar, a longtime Ghatkopar slum, are moving to high-rise housing in Vasan, Mumbai. The Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) is finishing its survey work quickly to commence the Ramabai Ambedkar Nagar Development Project.
