From tunnels under rivers to links across suburbs, the new BKC-Worli metro line is set to redefine Mumbai's daily commute.

Mumbai's first underground metro line is open after delays and controversy. This Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will open the 12.5 kilometre Aarey-BKC metro line's first phase. The new metro line would cut travel time from Aarey to BKC to 22.30 minutes, down from an hour.

Mumbai's first metro line is nearing completion. The much-anticipated Aarey vehicle shed (maintenance facility), vital to metro operation, is nearly 99% complete. Metro trains will soon undergo final inspections and be ready for operation.

Mumbai, the city that never sleeps, will soon add another significant transit upgrade with Metro-3 Line Phase-1, which will link Aarey to Bandra Kurla Complex.
