Design Mumbai 2025 Set to Showcase Global Design Excellence and Innovative Interior Solutions
The second edition of Design Mumbai has been announced to take place from November 26 to 29, 2025, at Jio World Garden, following the event's successful debut in 2024. The organizers revealed that the upcoming edition would feature an impressive lineup of international brands, emerging Indian designers, immersive installations, and a carefully curated talks programme, establishing the platform as one of South Asia's most significant design events.
International and Domestic Design Excellence Converge
Design Mumbai 2025 has been reported to present a compelling showcase bringing together award-winning international brands and pioneering Indian studios, reflecting the growing global recognition of Indian design prowess. The event is expected to attract significant attention from real estate developers and property investors in Mumbai, as design trends increasingly influence residential project aesthetics.
Among the international highlights, the American Hardwood Export Council has partnered with Phantom Hands to present sculptural works created by Adam Markowitz, x+l, Chandigarh Collective, and Inoda+Sveje. The Australian Institute of Architects will host its annual conference in Mumbai for the first time, marking a significant milestone in the city's design calendar.
Luxury brands making their return to the show include Baccarat, Poltrona Frau, Blå Station, USM, String, and Hästens. Natuzzi is set to debut its Mirai sofa collection, which blends Federician architecture with contemporary living aesthetics. French designers Dorothée Giey and Pia Pijselman will introduce kinetic lighting inspired by nature through Lux Temporis, while Set Up Co. will showcase minimalist design through a unique collaboration between two Japanese studios.
Indian Designers Lead with Sustainability and Craftsmanship
Indian studios have been announced to bring innovations deeply rooted in sustainability, craftsmanship, and storytelling to the forefront. These design principles are increasingly being incorporated into Mumbai's high-end residential properties, reflecting a shift toward more conscious luxury living.
Racconti's Eterno collection will showcase work by five leading Italian designers, while Lila returns with its adaptable children's furniture range. Shailesh Rajput Studio is set to unveil Jal, a handcrafted lighting collection inspired by the flow of water. FAZO Project, Threadarte, and StudioWorks will showcase contemporary textiles, rugs, and furniture using eco-friendly, reclaimed, and upcycled materials.
Other notable participants include LOCO Design, Lagom, Küche7, Hearty Muse Atelier, and Emanate, each bringing their unique perspectives on contemporary Indian design. The emphasis on sustainable design aligns with the broader trend toward climate-ready homes and green living spaces.
Experiential Installations and Collaborative Spaces
The event organizers revealed that Design Mumbai has evolved beyond a traditional fair into a destination for cross-cultural dialogue and hospitality innovation. This year's highlights include a pop-up by Soho House and a sustainability-focused café designed by Lucas Muñoz Muñoz for THE Park Hotels, created entirely from salvaged materials.
A Materials Lab curated by Chris Lefteri will feature future-facing materials, including innovative products like leather made from tea leaves. Venezuelan artist Juan Gerstl will create a grand sculptural entrance inspired by sacred geometry, setting the tone for visitors as they enter the venue. Such design innovations are increasingly influencing interior design concepts in luxury homes.
Knowledge Exchange Through Expert-Led Discussions
The Design Mumbai Exchange Talks Programme will be made available free to all visitors and is scheduled to feature leading voices in architecture, design, and sustainability. Key topics include climate-responsive workplace design, led by Harsha Kotak, founder of Women in Office Design, and discussions on craft, manufacturing, and culture, moderated by Devika Ray with panelists including Adam Markowitz, Deepak Srinath, David Venables, and Luke Hayward.
The programme has been described as reflecting global-local exchange, tackling diverse topics from Indian minimalism to redefining coastal architecture. These discussions are particularly relevant for luxury developers entering Mumbai's market, who increasingly focus on design-led development.
Platform for Emerging Design Talent
The Emerging Designers Pavilion, curated by Jasmine Jhaveri, will introduce fresh voices in Indian design, including Studio Abrash, Wannas Design Atelier, Studio Klay, and Trnkts3D. Istituto Marangoni will also return with five alumni designers, underscoring the vital role of education in shaping India's design landscape.
The focus on emerging talent reflects the growing opportunities in India's design sector, which extends beyond residential projects to include commercial and office space design across major Indian cities.
