MahaRail has announced that the Rs 287 crore Byculla cable-stayed bridge project in South Mumbai is 80% complete and will open by March 2026, enhancing east-west connectivity across Mumbai.

The BMC expects one arm of the Mumbai Coastal Road arch bridge, connecting to the BWSL, to open tentatively on September 15, 2024. Civic sources anticipate the south-bound roadway to handle northbound Marine Drive-Bandra traffic when it opens.

A monumental 2,000-metric-ton arch bridge, integral to the Mumbai Coastal Road project, embarked on its voyage from Mazagon Dock's Nhava unit at 12:30 PM recently.

Four girders for the bridge connecting Worli to the Coastal Road and Bandra-Worli Sea-Link will be installed in March, with the entire bridge expected to be operational by May, 2024. This step is part of the larger Mumbai Coastal Road Project (MCRP), aimed at enhancing connectivity in the region.

Mumbai will complete an important infrastructural milestone when the first section of the Gokhale Bridge in Andheri is finished in March 2024. After a 15-month break, the bridge will partly open to light motor vehicles (LMVs) by the end of the month, easing commutes for many drivers.
