Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has set the stage for a revolutionary change in India's transportation landscape with the introduction of an electric bus service on the Delhi-Mumbai Express National Highway. This innovative move is poised to significantly reduce travel time between Delhi and Jaipur to just two hours. Notably, this service is not just about speed; it's a leap towards sustainability, promising fares that are 30% lower than those of conventional diesel buses.

Udaipur's Road Infrastructure Gets a Boost

During a recent event in Udaipur, Gadkari unveiled plans for 17 new road projects, with a combined investment exceeding Rs 2,500 crore. Among these is the ambitious construction of a 67-kilometre four-lane expressway connecting Bandikui to Jaipur, slated for completion by November 2024. This initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance connectivity and infrastructure in the region.

Setting New Standards: The Delhi-Mumbai ExpresswayThe Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is earning accolades as Asia's first and the world's second expressway to integrate an animal overpass, reflecting India's dedication to innovative and environmentally conscious infrastructure. Gadkari expressed his satisfaction with the rapid progress of road development in Rajasthan, highlighting that the state's roads are now comparable to international standards.

Rajasthan's Highways: Aiming for Global ExcellenceGadkari's vision extends beyond the present, with a promise that by the end of 2024, Rajasthan's national highways will rival those in the United States. This ambitious goal is supported by substantial financial backing from the Centre, including an allocation of Rs 60,000 crores for expressway projects in Rajasthan, in addition to the Rs 1 lakh crore investment in the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway project.

These strategic initiatives mark a significant shift towards sustainable and efficient transportation solutions in India, showcasing the nation's commitment to elevating its infrastructure to world-class standards.
