Microsoft Corporation has strategically acquired a 48-acre land parcel in the Ranga Reddy district of Hyderabad for Rs 267 crore, aiming to expand its data centre footprint. The acquisition, facilitated by Sai Balaji Developers and documented by Propstack, marks a significant investment in the region.

Development Plans and Regional Growth:

An insider familiar with the transaction revealed that Microsoft plans to develop this site into one of the largest data centres in the area. Located approximately forty kilometres from central Hyderabad, the company reportedly paid a premium for this strategically chosen land. This development is poised to bolster Microsoft's data centre business significantly.

Microsoft’s Data Centre Network in India:

The new Hyderabad facility will join Microsoft's existing network of data centres across India, which currently includes locations in Pune, Mumbai, and Chennai. These facilities have been supporting various Microsoft technologies such as Azure, Windows, Office, and Bing for the past five years.

Further Expansion in Hyderabad:

In addition to the Ranga Reddy district property, Microsoft has acquired two more land parcels in Hyderabad to further its data centre operations, indicating a deepening commitment to its technological expansion in India.

Official Statement on Expansion:

When approached for comment, Microsoft maintained a reserved stance, stating that they had "no information to share at this time," highlighting the company's preference for confidentiality on ongoing expansion details.

Microsoft's Broader Presence in India:

Microsoft’s significant presence in India is underscored by its India Development Centre (IDC) located in Hyderabad. This 54-acre facility, along with additional centers in Bengaluru and Noida, plays a crucial role in advancing Microsoft's technological innovations globally.

Diversifying into Flexible Office Spaces

Adaptation to Flexible Work Environments:Over the past two years, Microsoft has been actively increasing its involvement in the flexible office space market across India, adapting to changing work dynamics and the increasing demand for versatile working environments.
