The $3 billion Dharavi redevelopment project, led by the Adani Group, kicks off with Phase 1 construction on a 6.4-acre railway land parcel, aiming to transform Asia's largest slum into a modern urban hub.

IAS officials, including Dharavi Redevelopment Project (DRP) CEO SVR Srinivas, Cidco president Vijay Singhal, and BMC associate municipal commissioner Abhijit Bangar, discussed city initiatives during the Maharashtra Infrastructure Conclave.

A special purpose vehicle set up by the government with Adani Realty as the lead developer, the Dharavi Redevelopment Project Pvt Ltd (DRPPL), and the Slum Rehabilitation Authority have sought 1,255 acres from various government agencies.
