Mumbai authorities have launched a new 23-meter foot overbridge connecting Metro Line 3 directly to Terminal 2, reducing passenger walking distance from 450 meters to just 118 meters.

Mumbai's first underground metro line is open after delays and controversy. This Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will open the 12.5 kilometre Aarey-BKC metro line's first phase. The new metro line would cut travel time from Aarey to BKC to 22.30 minutes, down from an hour.

Mumbai Metro 1, which serves Versova-Andheri-Ghatkopar, reached 5 lakh daily ridership. The corridor has never had such a high number on a weekday in its 10 years. Ridership increased due to Metro expansion and good weather.
