Trial runs for Mumbai Metro Line 9 have commenced, introducing India’s first double-decker metro and vehicular flyover integration. This innovative infrastructure aims to enhance connectivity and reduce congestion across Thane and Mumbai’s western suburbs.

MMRDA’s INR 20,000 crore projects—a tunnel and elevated road—aim to transform Thane’s connectivity and ease traffic in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.

Nine significant infrastructure projects have been approved for the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), enabling transformational development. The MMRDA is leading efforts worth approximately ₹12,546 crore to improve 56 km of roads, bridges, and pedestrian walkways, promoting regional connectivity.

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) plans to lease out seven plots in the Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) to earn 5,497 crore. This program finances Mumbai Metropolitan Region infrastructure projects.

A strategic bond sale by MMRDA to fund INR 50,000 crore will accelerate Mumbai's infrastructure development. MMRDA hopes to overcome its financial issues and forward critical projects that would boost connectivity and growth with state government support and a strong financial plan.

Thane, Palghar, and Bhiwandi will get Rs 2,700 crore in infrastructural projects from the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA).
