Trial runs for Mumbai Metro Line 9 have commenced, introducing India’s first double-decker metro and vehicular flyover integration. This innovative infrastructure aims to enhance connectivity and reduce congestion across Thane and Mumbai’s western suburbs.

In April 2022, the Mith Chowky flyover near Malad started construction, causing traffic congestion. Authorities expect to finish the flyover by December after it took more than 18 months to build.
