In a major relief to property owners, the Karnataka Cabinet has approved the issuance of A‑khata certificates for B‑khata properties in illegal layouts, paving the way for legal recognition, loans, and smoother property transactions across urban areas.

Backed by the Supreme Court, Karnataka’s revenue department will seize illegal land layouts. Digitisation and title deed distribution efforts also underway.
