Smartworks is creating a huge footprint

Smartworks is indeed moving very smartly. The fast growing managed office space provide has leased around 200,000 sq ft to five companies in its new flexible workspace centre in suburban Pune’s Baner area.

In the new 560,000 sq ft M-AGILE, 8500 seats will be one of the largest in the city. Smartworks has attracted five companies from around the world to its newest flexible workspace in suburban Pune, with an estimated resultant revenue of $22Mn/year

Smartworks has leased around 200,000 sq ft to five companies in its new flexible workspace centre in suburban Pune’s Baner area. The companies who have taken up space, including Pune-based MAN Trucks India Pvt Ltd (400 seats), are from sectors such as information technology (IT), banking and financial services and manufacturing. The centre, which is Smartworks’ seventh in Pune, is scheduled to be operational in September.

Managed office space provider Smartworks Co has leased around 200,000 sq ft to five companies in its new flexible workspace centre. Smartworks didn’t disclose the names of the other tenants as it team was being made public but property consultant JLL facilitated the transaction.

This is a result to the pandemic, in which companies across the country are looking for distributed offices to keep their employees safe and allow them to work comfortably wherever they may be. The labor market in Pune is hot because of the high demand for flexible workspaces and their benefits, including lower initial investment than traditional offices.

Smartworks claims to offer workspaces that cater, "to the desired requirement for flexible office spaces that nurture competitiveness, innovation, and productivity".

With seven centres, Smartworks has a total foot print of over 1.4 million sq ft with around 25000 seating.

To accommodate this trend, Smartworks has leased 3 million sqft to five brands in M-AGILE. The flex space market should reach 5 million sqft by 2022 as more and more enterprises rely on creative and offsite employees.
