The alignment of Gokhale Bridge with the C D Barfiwala Flyover in Andheri is nearing completion. According to BMC officials, the remaining tasks include installing expansion joints between the two structures, leveling, and other minor works, all of which are expected to be finished by the end of June 2024.

The first section of Gokhale Bridge was opened on February 26. However, a 6-foot gap has kept the C D Barfiwala Flyover closed to motorists.

Originally built in 2008, the Barfiwala Flyover starts in Juhu and connects with the north-south arms of the old Gokhale Bridge, which has been a landmark since 1960.
