The Tata Group is poised to unveil two resorts under the Taj brand in 2026, located on Suheli and Kadmat islands of Lakshadweep. This development has drawn attention following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent visit and the emerging dialogue with the Maldives.

The Indian Hotels Company, a Tata subsidiary, disclosed plans for these Greenfield projects last year, marking a significant milestone for IHCL.

Lakshadweep Gains Limelight as a Tourist Haven

Following PM Modi's promotion of the islands as a tourist destination, accompanied by picturesque images, Lakshadweep has garnered widespread interest. Comparisons with the Maldives have highlighted its scenic beaches, sparking discussions about the region's infrastructure readiness for an expected increase in tourist influx. There is no doubt that Lakshadweep real esate will also get a boost due to these developments.

IHCL's Vision for Lakshadweep's Tourism

IHCL's MD and CEO, Puneet Chhatwal, emphasized the enormous potential of Lakshadweep, citing its unspoiled beaches and coral reefs as key attractions. The upcoming Taj resorts are anticipated to draw both international and domestic travelers, enhancing the region's appeal.

Exploring Lakshadweep Island Attractions

Lakshadweep, an archipelago of 36 islands, boasts several notable tourist spots including Bangaram, Agatti, Kadmath, Minicoy, Kavaratti, and Suheli.

Kadmat, in particular, is gaining fame as a premier diving destination in India.

Details of the Taj Resorts in Suheli and Kadmat

The Taj resort at Suheli will feature 110 rooms, with a mix of beach and water villas. Kadmat Island, known for its marine biodiversity and seagrass beds, will host the Taj Hotel with 75 beach villas and 35 water villas.

Renowned for its picturesque landscapes, Lakshadweep offers a plethora of water sports such as scuba diving, windsurfing, snorkeling, surfing, water skiing, and yachting.
