NapTapGo has emerged as a promising disruptor in India's hospitality sector, with its tech-driven pod-style hotels offering a refreshing alternative to overpriced and underwhelming stays. In a bid to bridge the quality-affordability gap in the budget accommodation space, the startup recently secured ₹2 crore in pre-seed funding from Inflection Point Ventures (IPV).

Pod Hotels Designed for Modern India

Founded in 2023 by Nitin Malhotra and Himanshu Shukla, NapTapGo aims to provide clean, affordable, and flexible lodging solutions through its pod hotel concept. The startup has prioritised locations around transit hubs, religious sites, city centres, and hospitals. Its model supports hourly bookings, AI-powered backend operations, and sustainability-focused services—offering features that appeal to both short-stay and low-budget travellers.

Inflection Point Ventures Backs the Vision

The fresh funding will be used to scale franchise operations, strengthen marketing efforts, upgrade technology infrastructure, and improve centralised operations. Vinay Bansal, Founder and CEO of IPV, noted that the hospitality sector is undergoing transformation, but customer expectations still outpace service delivery. He emphasised that NapTapGo is bridging that gap with its affordable luxury model.

Expansion Targets: From NCR to Nationwide

Currently active in the National Capital Region, NapTapGo plans to extend operations to key cities including Gurugram, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Katra, and Amritsar. By FY27, the startup aims to establish 20 pod hotel properties across India. Notably, 65% of its bookings are already being generated directly through its own digital platforms—namely, its website and WhatsApp—highlighting a successful digital-first strategy.

Recognitions and Endorsements

NapTapGo’s unique model has attracted strategic backing from PSU Balmer Lawrie and won the title of "Franchisable Concept of the Year – 2024." Business leader Anand Mahindra also appreciated the startup’s efforts to solve the country’s affordable accommodation challenge.

Looking Ahead

With a clear roadmap, robust investor backing, and a commitment to elevating customer experience, NapTapGo appears set to redefine the standards of budget hospitality in India. As the startup expands its footprint, its tech-enabled approach could become a blueprint for the future of affordable lodging across the nation.
