In Mumbai, a big project to connect two important bridges, Gokhale and CD Barfiwala Flyovers, is facing delays. The city's officials have shared that finishing this task might take until the end of the year. This news means more traffic jams for people driving on SV Road, especially when it rains.

The Challenge of Linking Two Slopes

The main problem is that the two bridges slope in different directions, which makes it hard to join them without creating a risky steep path. The city is looking into different ways to fix this issue and hopes to have the Gokhale Bridge fully open by December 2024. Right now, the bridge is only partly open for use.

Planning the Work in Stages

To solve this, the city has a plan to work in stages. They've even got a specialist from VJTI to suggest how to do the construction work properly. They've decided to use the space on SV Road and the road from Juhu Lane to Andheri station for this project.

Keeping Traffic Moving

Knowing that doing all the work at once would cause too much traffic trouble, the city chose to first finish part of the Gokhale Bridge and open it. Then, they'll start on connecting it with the Barfiwala Bridge. This decision shows they're trying to keep traffic problems as low as possible while they finish the bridge work.

This project is a big deal for Mumbai, showing how the city is working to improve roads and make driving easier for everyone. Even with the delays, the effort to connect these bridges is a step toward a better Mumbai.
