Larsen & Toubro Group Firm Mindtree Establishes its First Development Centre in Kolkata

Mindtree's new development centre, which spans 56,000 square feet, is situated in Bidhannagar, a neighbourhood in the Greater Kolkata area. The new building is LEED-certified for ecologically friendly operations and has been built as an agile work environment.

Despite the epidemic, the Larsen & Toubro Group firm claimed it had been hiring employees in Kolkata for over a year. It has already established a presence in the city, employing over 1,000 experts.

Additionally, the firm said that it is actively growing its workforce in Kolkata, with the expectation of doubling its personnel in the city during the next fiscal year.

Mindtree, located in Bangalore, said that it is now serving clients in Kolkata with digital solutioning, consulting, cloud, core modernisation, product engineering, and more, as well as cybersecurity services.

This covers some of the world's major retailers, consumer goods manufacturers, financial services, insurance, travel, transportation, and hotel industries in North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific.

"We are thrilled to officially open our first centre in Kolkata, marking a significant milestone in our mission to use the greatest talent to assist our clients accelerate their digital transformation journeys," stated Debashis Chatterjee, CEO and MD – Mindtree.

"The centre is the consequence of our ongoing investment in cutting-edge personnel and infrastructure to keep pace with the growing worldwide demand for our services. Our objective is to use our domain and technology expertise, global client presence, innovative people practises, and close partnership with universities to foster the development of future-ready talent and fast-paced professions in the city," said Chatterjee.
