Univastu India Ltd has won two significant sports infrastructure contracts in Maharashtra, further reinforcing India’s commitment to world-class facilities ahead of its potential bid to host the Olympic Games. These projects, bagged through competitive bidding, reflect a growing emphasis on athletic development at both the national and grassroots levels.
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Sports Complex to Rise in Karad
The first of the awarded projects includes the development of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Sports Complex in Karad. This initiative, valued at ₹88.03 crore, will be carried out for the Karad Municipal Council and has been sanctioned by the Public Works Department (West), Satara. The construction is scheduled to span 24 months, excluding the monsoon season.
Jalgaon to Host New Divisional Sports Complex
The second project involves the construction of a Divisional Sports Complex in Jalgaon, commissioned by the Divisional Sports Complex Committee. With a larger budget allocation of ₹244.31 crore, this facility is expected to be completed over 36 months, not counting delays during the monsoon period.
