The Bombay High Court has restored a Borivli housing society federation's registration after finding that a seven-year delayed appeal challenging it was based on fabricated claims of ignorance.

The Bombay High Court has ruled that cooperative housing societies in Maharashtra no longer need NOCs from the Registrar for redevelopment, declaring the authorities' role as strictly supervisory and ending a major source of bureaucratic delays and corruption.

The Bombay High Court heard a PIL asking the court to direct the Registrar of Cooperative Housing Societies to set rules for installing electric vehicle (EV) charging stations in co-op housing societies.  The court notified the parties and ordered a hearing on January 6, 2021.
