A monumental 2,000-metric-ton arch bridge, integral to the Mumbai Coastal Road project, embarked on its voyage from Mazagon Dock's Nhava unit at 12:30 PM recently.

After years of stalemate, the Mumbai-Goa coastal highway project is moving forward. A unified procurement for six bridges by the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) is expected to stimulate Konkan tourism and industry.

Four girders for the bridge connecting Worli to the Coastal Road and Bandra-Worli Sea-Link will be installed in March, with the entire bridge expected to be operational by May, 2024. This step is part of the larger Mumbai Coastal Road Project (MCRP), aimed at enhancing connectivity in the region.

With the completion of the Coastal Road project, Mumbai, known for its energy and drive, is about to change. This modern motorway along Mumbai's western shoreline is expected to change the metropolitan environment, particularly in luxury residential areas.
