Brookfield India Real Estate Trust is selling private placement units to institutional investors to earn up to Rs 3,500 crore to buy two Gurugram and Mumbai properties.

Roche's India subsidiary has leased more than 200,000 square feet of office space from Brookfield Properties' commercial complex in Pune's Baner neighbourhood, according to sources with firsthand knowledge of the transaction.

Brookfield India Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) and Singapore's sovereign wealth fund GIC have formed an equal partnership to acquire two large commercial properties totaling 6.5 million square feet from Brookfield Asset Management's private real estate funds.

Brookfield, a Canadian real estate investment trust, will acquire a 51% share in four commercial buildings owned by Bharti Enterprises for an enterprise value of 5,000 crore.
