The Government of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir has announced the appointment of Satish Chandra, the former chairman of the Jammu & Kashmir Public Service Commission (J&K PSC), as the new chairperson of the Jammu and Kashmir Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA).

This appointment, as detailed in a notification from the Housing & Urban Development Department, is in accordance with the powers vested by Section 22 of the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016.

The notification emphasizes that the chairperson of the Authority will be dedicated solely to this role, not holding any other office. The specific terms and conditions related to Chandra's appointment are set to be notified separately.
