The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has announced plans to construct infrastructure projects totaling Rs 2,700 crore spanning the locations of Thane, Palghar, and Bhiwandi.

The authority has issued a request for proposals (RFP) to hire a seasoned firm to undertake feasibility studies and provide detailed project reports (DPRs) for the specified projects. Thane approach roads from Gaimukh (Thane) to Paye Gaon, Kasarvadavali (Thane) to Kharbao, and Kolshet (Thane) to Kalher (Bhiwandi), costing Rs 1,162 crore, are among the infrastructural development projects for which MMRDA has commenced the process.

At an estimated cost of Rs 741 crore, feasibility studies and DPRs are also being produced for the Naringi creek bridge between Marambalpada jetty and Datiware and a bridge on the Vaitarna river to offer connectivity between Palghar and Virar.

MMRDA has also proposed connection between Shilphata and Mankoli, for which Rs 614 crore would be spent on feasibility studies and DPRs. In addition, the MMRDA is developing a road from Gandhari Bridge Kalyan to NH-3 through Sape Road, which would cost Rs 148.62 crore and include the enlargement of the Gandhan Bridge.
