Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has officially launched the Atal Puram Township, which officials described as the Agra Development Authority's most significant housing initiative since the late 1980s. The ambitious project, spanning 340 acres at the convergence of Agra Inner Ring Road, Southern Bypass, and Gwalior Road, is positioned to reshape the city's urban landscape.

Multi-Phase Development to Accommodate Nearly 10,000 Families

The township's development strategy involves implementation across three distinct phases covering 11 sectors. Project planners announced that Atal Puram would provide housing solutions for approximately 10,000 families through a comprehensive mix of 1,430 residential plots, 18 group housing plots, and 96 commercial plots. The development incorporates modern urban planning principles with faster registration processes under UP-RERA 2025 framework.

Advanced Infrastructure and Civic Amenities Integration

The masterplan features state-of-the-art infrastructure including underground utility ducts, efficient sewage management systems, and a dedicated water treatment plant. Essential civic facilities have been incorporated into the design, encompassing a police post, fire station, and a modern convention centre. These amenities align with contemporary urban development standards seen in other Agra real estate market developments.

Farmer-Friendly Land Acquisition Model Sets New Standard

A distinctive feature of the project involves its innovative land acquisition approach, where authorities secured land directly from farmers at four times the prevailing circle rate. This model demonstrates the government's commitment to fair compensation for agricultural landowners. The land acquisition component required an investment of approximately ₹784 crore, while an additional ₹731 crore has been allocated for comprehensive development activities. This approach mirrors successful practices implemented in other Uttar Pradesh land deals with enhanced verification.

Strategic Vision for Urban Expansion and Connectivity

Development officials emphasized that Atal Puram Township represents a significant advancement toward creating a modern, well-connected, and sustainable urban environment in Agra. The project aligns with the state government's broader vision of planned urban expansion and improved infrastructure development across major cities. The township's strategic location and comprehensive planning are expected to serve as a model for future developments in the region, contributing to the overall growth of India's best cities for property investment.
