Actor Rajkummar Rao Buys Luxury Home in Juhu From Janhvi Kapoor For INR 44 Crore Approximately

On March 31, 2022, the agreement between Rajkummar and Patralekha, the daughter of Boney Kapoor, and the late actress Sridevi was finalised.

Rajkummar Rao paid his Roohi co-star Janhvi a staggering Rs 44 Crore to sell him a magnificent triplex apartment in Mumbai's Juhu neighbourhood. Janhvi sold the condo she purchased for Rs 39 Crore in December 2020 to Rajkummar and his wife Patralekha some years later. The property has 3,456 square feet of floor space, and at around Rs 1.27 lakh per square foot, it is one of the priciest residential offers in Juhu. The agreement between Rajkummar and Patralekha, the daughter of Boney Kapoor, and the late actress Sridevi was finalised on March 31, 2022, but was not registered until July 21, 2022. The apartment is located on the 14th, 15th, and 16th floors of a building in the Juhu-Vile Parle Development Scheme and has six parking spaces.

The new owners reportedly paid Rs 2.19 crore in stamp duty, a considerable increase over Janhvi Kapoor's stamp duty payment of Rs 78 lakh two years previously. The difference in stamp duty is the result of a 3 percent refund offered by the state government to property purchasers between September 2020 and December 2020 to stimulate real estate deals in Mumbai market.

The registration documents indicate that Rajkummar and Patralekha now live in the same building. Although it is unclear if they own the home they now dwell in or just rent it. The purchase by Rajkummar and Patralekha follows the large sums of money that other Bollywood superstars spent on properties in 2022. Ranveer Singh spent Rs 119 crore for a home in Bandra Bandstand in July, while Kajol paid Rs 11.95 crore for two flats in the same building as Rajkumar's in January 2022. In July, Ranveer Singh reportedly purchased a sea-facing quadruplex in Bandstand for Rs 119 crore. Ranveer and Deepika Padukone acquired an Alibaug home worth Rs 22 crore in 2021.

The Indian film industry has long favoured luxury residences in Juhu, such as sea-facing duplexes, lovely penthouses, and expansive bungalows. Therefore, the demand for real estate in Juhu has always been strong, and luxury property developers in Mumbai continue to construct extravagant, high-end homes in Juhu at jaw-dropping rates.
