Nearly 30% of winners from MHADA's 2025 Konkan-board housing lottery have surrendered their allotted flats, with affordability issues and unsuitable locations cited as primary reasons, raising concerns about the affordable housing scheme's effectiveness.

The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority has announced its 2025 lottery results, allocating 5,354 affordable homes and 77 plots across Thane, Vasai, and Palghar regions, with nearly 1.85 lakh applications received for the Konkan board housing schemes.
